Causes of genital warts, Human Papillomavirus (HPV):

Genital Infections:

Genital warts are caused in 99% of cases by direct contact with the warts on an infected female or through secretions that can enter the male's penis.

In the case of females, the transmission can occur through direct contact with warts present on the penis or pubic area. It can also occur through contact with semen that enters the vagina or anus during sexual intercourse, including anal sex. Additionally, transmission can occur if semen is ejaculated onto the skin from the outside.

It is indeed possible for a single sexual contact to be sufficient for contracting genital warts. The appearance of warts can occur anywhere from one month to several years after the initial contact.

As for non-genital infections, there are two types:

1. The first type occurs when warts are present on other parts of the body and are transmitted to the genital area through touch or contact with blood.
2. The second type of transmission occurs through the use of contaminated tools or objects that have been in contact with an infected person for an extended period. This can include public restrooms, contaminated towels, or even sitting in a damp environment where an infected person has previously sat.

Infection through the mouth:

Infection with genital warts can occur through oral sex. There have been reported cases of individuals acquiring genital warts in their own mouths. In such cases, the spread of warts can range from small lesions to large ones that occupy half of the mouth.

Indeed, it is important to note that genital warts can be acquired through non-sexual means as well. Therefore, it is crucial to exercise caution and refrain from making harsh judgments about a life partner before confirming the nature of the genital warts.
